Misc

Time
Cyprus is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT/UTC), and seven hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST). Clocks go forward one hour for summer time at 3 am on the last Sunday in March and back again at 3 am on the last Sunday in October.
Driving
In all Cyprus traffic drives on the left, seatbelts must be worn and the traffic signs are international.
If driving across the border from the south, insurance for the North must be purchased at the border. The minimum is currently 35 Euros for a month. The insurance office hours vary, if you cross during office hours you should be ok.
Road maps bought in the south have Greek place names and the road signs in the North have Turkish place names!
